Darshan Kaur Johl
Darshan Kaur Johl (February 6, 1946 – November 21, 2009) was beloved by her family and circle of friends in Yuba City. She was known for her dedication to seva (volunteer service) at the Gurdwara and in the community more broadly. She was born in the village of Pawadra in the district of Jalandhar in Punjab, India. She married Piara S. Johl and settled in Yuba City in the mid-1960s. The couple was married for over four decades until Darshan passed away. Darshan was the daughter-in-law of Dr. Gulzar Singh Johl and granddaughter-in-law of Tuly Singh Johl, one of the first Punjabi settlers in the Yuba City area.
Darshan and Piara raised three children: Baljit Kaur Johl, Sukhjit Singh Johl, and Gurjit Singh Johl.
